Frequently Asked Questions
Find answers to common questions about therapy, supervision, and more. Use the filters to explore categories that match your needs. Whether you’re just starting or looking for specific guidance, I’m here to help put your mind at ease.
Do you accept insurance?
No, I am a Private Pay and Out-of-Network provider which means I am not in network or credentialed with any insurance company.
Will my insurance reimburse me for therapy?
Typically, when a client receives care from an out-of-network provider, they will need to pay the full cost of the services up front. Afterward, they can submit a claim to their insurance company for reimbursement. The insurance company will review the claim, determine the eligible amount to be paid based on their out-of-network coverage policy, and then issue reimbursement directly to the client.
Are you a member of any employee assistance programs?
At this time I am a provider with the following Employee Assistance Programs:
- Lyra Health
- Modern Health
What are your rates?
All self-pay rates are listed on each individual service page. You can explore available services here.
What payment methods do you accept?
I accept payments by credit card or check. I will automatically charge your credit card after the conclusion of each session unless you have provided a check during our session. You can request to update your credit card information at any time.
What is your cancellation policy?
Missed appointments and cancellations without 24 hours prior notice will be billed at the full rate. Cancellations with more than 24 hours advance notice are not charged.
Is therapy confidential?
Absolutely. Everything we discuss remains confidential, and your privacy is my priority.
Do I need to have a specific issue to start therapy?
Not at all. Therapy can be a space for exploring general self-awareness and growth, even if there’s no clear “problem” you’re trying to solve.
What if I’m unsure about talking about sex?
We move at your pace. Whether or not we talk about sex directly depends on your needs and comfort level.
How does payment work?
I am an out-of-network provider, but I can provide you with superbills for reimbursement through your insurance. This allows you to get partial reimbursement depending on your plan.
What’s the first step to start therapy?
The first step is to schedule a free 15-minute phone consultation where we can discuss your needs and see if we’re a good fit. This is an opportunity for you to ask me questions as well as for us to discuss the nuts and bolts of beginning therapy.
What kind of clients do you work with?
I work with queer and allied individuals of all sexual and relational identities. My practice is kink-knowledgeable, affirming, and inclusive.
Can I get help even if I’m not in a relationship?
Absolutely. Whether you’re single or partnered, therapy can help you understand yourself better and navigate challenges in life, relationships, and identity.
Do we have to talk about sex?
Not necessarily. We can focus on whatever feels most important to you, whether it’s sexual concerns or other areas like relationships, identity, or life transitions.
Do you offer virtual sessions?
Yes, I offer virtual therapy sessions for clients in Texas, Kentucky, and New York. In-person sessions are available in Austin, TX.
Do you provide clinical supervision?
